Throughout the mid-to-late 1980s, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) was the villain in Salem. He came to DAYS in 1985 as an old acquaintance of the Bradys, but the following year, viewers learned he was much more than just a friend of the family. Years before, Brady matriarch Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay) had an affair with Victor. When she became pregnant with Bo (Peter Reckell), no one questioned his paternity. But in 1986, it was revealed that Bo was the product of Victor and Caroline's affair. This revelation led Bo, who already was the black sheep of the family, to become even more estranged from the Bradys. For a time he and wife Hope even lived with Victor. Eventually, he learned to accept his parentage and repair his relationship with Shawn and Caroline. But Bo's paternity has had an effect on many stories since the mid-'80s, even adding depth to a custody battle story involving his son and half-brother in 2007. Few DAYS moments have had as much shock value and lasting impact as this one.
