When Luke & Laura (Anthony Geary & Genie Francis) found their daughter Lulu in need of a bone marrow transplant in 1996, viewers may have thought they were in store for yet another dead-child storyline just two years after young BJ Jones was killed off. But the GH writers had something entirely different and compelling up their sleeves: the only donor match was Nikolas (Tyler Christopher), the long-lost son Laura had conceived with Stavros Cassadine when she was kidnapped in the 1980s and never revealed to Luke. In the days leading up to this big reveal, Laura was seen secretly contacting a mysterious man who turned out to be Cassadine black sheep and Nikolas' uncle, Stefan (Stephen Nichols). But Luke knew his wife well enough to know something was up, and in this sequence, Laura reveals the secret she can keep hidden no more. What was awesome about the re-emergence of the Cassadines was the basically-believable timeline it recounted, as well as the way viewers could truly believe that Laura could keep this secret. The acting and chemistry between Geary and Francis in these scenes is truly unmatched in daytime history.
