But in 1985, apparently Ms. Kane and AMC's writers expected Canadian wildlife to know the same, too. After being cornered by a grizzly bear in the woods after dodging a kidnapping attempt, Lucci had the foolish assignment of screaming "I am Erica Kane!" at the beast, and when it hears that, certinaly it will retreat, right? Of course! Palmer or Opal or Tad may be fit to be bear food, but not La Lucci! A ridiculous scene that nonetheless helps establish what an icon Erica Kane had become.
