By many accounts, DAYS' Doug & Julie (Bill Hayes & Susan Seaforth Hayes) were daytime's first true supercouple. They were even the first soap stars to ever grace the cover of Time magazine. The DAYS writers put them through an emotional roller coaster of trials and tribulations throughout the early 1970s before finally allowing them to make it to the altar in 1976.
