the 100 most memorable moments in soap history

Though he was 17 years old when "Passions" debuted, Josh Ryan Evans had the appearance and voice of a small child due to a form of dwarfism. Timmy was a doll that the evil witch Tabitha Lenox (Juliet Mills) brought to life with her magic. It was often common for bodily harm to come upon Timmy, but the loveable doll would always be okay. Timmy loved Tabitha but rejected her evil ways. For this reason, an angel eventually granted Timmy's wish to be a living boy. When Timmy went on a quest to save Charity from imprisonment in a block of ice, he and Charity were severely injured in a blast of magical energy. Because Timmy was now human, he died of his injuries, and his heart was transplanted into Charity, saving her life. Evans' size caused him several health problems, and on August 5, 2002, he died following a complication from a heart operation. Ironically, Timmy's death scene aired the same day that Evans died, and the episode was dedicated to him. The character of Timmy was intended to become an angel and remain on the show, but this entire storyline was quickly rewritten. Timmy's death was a rare shot of real emotion for a soap that is so silly so often.
