After learning that their son, Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) had apparently been killed in an apartment fire, Luke & Laura (Anthony Geary & Genie Francis) had to make their way to the morgue. When it came to the moment that the body had to be identified, Luke asked Laura to wait in the lobby while he faced the gruesome task. She didn't. Wandering in the viewing room, almost in a trance, a sobbing Laura wept, "I want to see my baby one more time," and as the sheet was pulled back on Lucky's corpse, the look of horror that hits Laura's face before she passes out is haunting. Once she is helped out of the room, she regains her composure enough to rip into Luke, Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton), whom she finds culpable in her son's death. This was probably Francis' finest moment as an actress, and her searing pain and devastation was heightened by the fact that this episode aired the same day as the tragic Columbine school shootings occurred in real life.
