First off, let's talk eligibility: in order for a soap hunk to be fair game for the
Adonis 2004 contest, he must have currently appeared on a U.S. soap during the contest period, with no announced plans to vacate his role before the end of the contest.
Voters were allowed only three votes per IP address each week.
For the first five weeks of the contest, you voted for which hotties would be competing. In four semifinal rounds, the two most popular hunks from a field of eight advanced. In the fifth week's Wild Card round, eight also-rans got one more chance to be the final competitor voted in by the public. Three more wild cards were hand selected: one by Dreamcaps head honcho DaveId, a true soap hunk expert and soaphunks.net contributor; one by my pal Val, who has contributed a lot of caps to the Shrine; and one more picked by yours truly. Then it was time for the real contest to begin!
Each week at soaphunks.net, I revealed the results of the previous week's voting and launch the next week's round, all up until we ended up with our winner.
