Shrine to the Soap Hunks

In order for a soap hunk to be fair game for the Adonis 2009 contest, he must appear on a U.S. soap during the contest period (May 14-September 2, 2009), including actors who have announced plans to start during the contest semifinal period and with no announced plans (by May 1, 2009) to vacate his role before the end of the contest. Competitors may be either on contract or steadily recurring. Due to the nature of this contest, plans such as these announced after the contest begins will have no effect.
 

2009 VOTING RULES

THE SEMIFINALS: Unlike in past contests, this year there is no pre-established set of 32 semifinalists. Instead, ALL qualifying actors from each daytime soap are eligible. The first four weeks of voting will focus on two soaps only each week (see schedule below). All eligible actors from a given soap will compete against their co-stars only. The top vote-getter from each of the eight daytime soaps will earn a spot in the finals.
 

WILD CARD WEEK: The hunk who polls in second place for each soap during each semifinal week will return for Wild Card Week. The public's top vote-getter from this group will also earn a finalist's spot. The final three spots will be hand-picked from the eight wild card contestants by this year's three esteemed judges. This year's judges are led by TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco, making his debut as an Adonis judge. Branco's Nelson Ratings column is simply the best soap column on the Internet. My pal superherofan (whose caps can be seen throughout this site and on his own at superherofan.net) returns as a judge again this year, and rounding things out with the last pick will be MOI. After the judges make their picks, we'll have our 12 finalists, and then it will be time for the real contest to begin!
 

THE FINALS: You may vote once per day per person per IP address. Unlike last year, there is no ranking everyone, just one vote for your favorite contestant.  Each valid submission will carry the weight of 1,000 votes, just as in the past few years. Please do NOT vote multiple times from all of your different e-mail addresses, nor may you jump from computer to computer. You will have to attest to this before submitting any ballots, and any evidence of foul play will invalidate ALL of your attempted ballots. During the finals, the contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated.
